Application for Loss Prevention Grant

Does your organization have a workplace safety committee? The MCWCF is pleased to offer this opportunity for its members to apply for up to $5000 in grant funds to support investments in workplace safety. Please complete the form below to apply.

As part of the loss prevention program, this grant is designed specifically to reduce workplace injuries and, consequently, claims on the MCWCF and its members. To qualify, members must have a workplace safety committee and provide minutes from its last meeting. Members are limited to one successful grant application per 12-month period.

Applications may be submitted at any time and are reviewed by a committee of three MCWCF trustees. Preference will be given to projects that are:

  • Focused on protecting employee safety in the workplace
  • Based on a specific need
  • Able to make a significant impact for the organization
  • Not provided for by the organization’s budget

Successful applicants will be formally notified by letter, including the approved grant amount. Funds are issued as reimbursements after the equipment has been purchased. You’ll need to file for reimbursement within 90 days of receiving your notification letter.

Please reach out to Eric Waidelich at 313-530-8251 or [email protected] if you have any questions about the grant program prior to submitting your application.

LANSING, MI: In its ongoing commitment to employee safety, the Michigan Counties Workers’ Compensation Fund (MCWCF) has announced the latest recipients of its Loss Prevention Grants. These grants support workplace safety initiatives across various counties in Michigan, enhancing employee well-being and reducing workplace accidents and injuries.

The following counties received safety grant funding for approved safety equipment:

  • Livingston County: $2,730

MCWCF’s Year-Round Grant Program

MCWCF Administrator Tim McGuire emphasized the importance of workplace safety. “Workplace safety isn’t just about funding—it’s about equipping individuals with the knowledge, confidence and tools to identify and mitigate risks before they become hazards,” McGuire shared.

The grant program operates year-round, allowing members to submit financing requests at any time. A committee of three MCWCF trustees reviews applications and makes funding decisions based on specific needs and potential impacts on the organization.

“Risk management is an ongoing practice,” McGuire emphasized. “Our year-round grant program enables us to swiftly address emerging safety concerns, emphasizing a proactive approach to risk management and prevention.”
