NEWS (2/27/2020): Livingston County commissioner appointed to MCWCF Board of Trustees

LANSING, Mich. — Carol Griffith, chair of the Livingston County Board of Commissioners, has been appointed to the Board of Trustees of the Michigan Counties Workers’ Compensation Fund (MCWCF). Griffiths was selected for the post by her Livingston colleagues and replaces Donald Parker, who resigned from the MCWCF and Livingston boards.

Griffith represents District 7, which includes all of Genoa Township, and his held her seat since January 2009. Griffith is a full time Realtor in her community and has held numerous leadership positions with the local, state, and national associations of Realtors.

As an MCWCF trustee, Griffiths will be responsible for overseeing a fund more than $30 million in assets serving 81 public entities from Gogebic County to Monroe County.

“We are pleased to welcome Carol to the Board of Trustees and are confident that her extensive experience in county government and business will aid us in our work,” said Douglas Johnson, MCWCF Board president and a commissioner for Otsego County.

The MCWCF, a nonprofit, member-owned pool begun in 1979 by the Michigan Association of Counties, has 81 members that include county governments, medical care facilities, housing commissions, road commissions, transport authorities, community mental health agencies and villages.
